What's included with a Desert Cat G19 Gen 1-3 stripped slide?

Each stripped slide ships with an RMR cover plate. No barrel, recoil spring assembly, sights, or internal parts are included. To complete the build you will need a G19 Gen 1-3-compatible barrel, recoil spring assembly, firing pin assembly, extractor, extractor depressor plunger, spring-loaded bearing, spacer sleeve, channel liner, and slide cover plate. Desert Cat offers G19 Gen 1-3 barrels and complete slide parts kits to pair with your stripped slide, and a complete slide option if you'd prefer everything included.

What is the RMR optic footprint?

The RMR footprint is the standard optic mounting cut for full-size Glock platforms like the G19. Desert Cat mills this cut directly into the slide at factory depth. Compatible optics: Trijicon RMR (Type 1 and Type 2), Trijicon SRO, Trijicon RCR, Holosun 407C / 507C / 507C X2, Holosun 508T / 508T X2, and Swampfox Liberty II. Note: this is a different cut than the RMSC/407K footprint used on G43/43X slides — carry-optic K-series Holosuns are not compatible with this cut.

Are these slides compatible with Gen 4 or Gen 5 frames?

No. Desert Cat G19 Gen 1-3 stripped slides are machined to Gen 1-3 frame specifications. The Glock 19 Gen 4 and Gen 5 use a different internal frame rail geometry — these slides will not properly seat on Gen 4 or Gen 5 frames. These slides fit OEM Glock 19 Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 frames, and aftermarket frames machined to Gen 1-3 specification.

What frames will these slides fit?

Desert Cat G19 Gen 1-3 stripped slides fit standard OEM Glock 19 Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 frames, and aftermarket frames machined to the same specification. They are not compatible with G19 Gen 4 or Gen 5 frames, G17 frames, G26 frames, or any other platform.

Can I use an OEM Glock 19 barrel in a Desert Cat slide?

Yes. Desert Cat stripped slides are machined to standard Glock 19 Gen 1-3 barrel dimensions and accept OEM Glock 19 Gen 1-3 barrels as well as aftermarket barrels built to the same spec. Desert Cat also offers G19 Gen 1-3 barrels separately — see the barrels section for available options.

Is this a good platform for a competition or carry optics build?

Yes. The RMR footprint accommodates a wide range of proven full-size red dots — Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 507C, 508T, and others that have established records in competition and duty use. The Desert Cat slide body gives you a clean, optics-ready platform to build a high-performance G19 without the lead time of a custom slide milling job.
