What's included with a Desert Cat G43/43X stripped slide?

Each stripped slide ships with an RMSC cover plate. No barrel, recoil spring assembly, sights, or internal parts are included. To complete the build you will need a G43/43X-compatible barrel, recoil spring assembly, extractor, extractor depressor plunger, spring-loaded bearing, and slide cover plate. Desert Cat offers G43/43X barrels and a complete slide option if you'd prefer everything included.

What is the RMSC/407K optic cut?

The RMSC/407K footprint is the standard optic mounting cut for slim-frame carry pistols like the Glock 43/43X. It is smaller than the RMR footprint used on full-size Glock slides. Desert Cat mills this cut directly into the slide at factory depth. Compatible optics: Holosun 407K, Holosun 507K, Holosun EPS Carry, and Shield RMSc. The Trijicon RMR and other full-size optics are not compatible with this cut.

Are these slides compatible with the Glock 48?

No. The Glock 48 uses a longer slide (4.17" barrel length) than the G43 and G43X (3.41" barrel length). These stripped slides are dimensioned for the G43/43X profile only. Desert Cat will offer G48-specific products separately as the product line expands.

What frames will these slides fit?

Desert Cat G43/43X stripped slides are built to OEM Glock 43/43X frame dimensions. They fit standard OEM Glock 43 and 43X frames, and aftermarket frames machined to the same specification. They are not compatible with G48 frames, full-size Glock frames, or any other platform.

Can I use an OEM Glock 43/43X barrel in a Desert Cat slide?

Yes. Desert Cat stripped slides are machined to standard G43/43X barrel dimensions and accept OEM Glock barrels as well as aftermarket barrels built to the same spec. Desert Cat also offers G43/43X barrels separately — see the Barrels section for available options and finishes.

Is this a good platform for a carry optics build?

Yes. The RMSC/407K footprint is purpose-built for compact optics that sit close to the bore axis. Holosun's K-series optics (407K, 507K, EPS Carry) are among the most popular carry red dots on the market, and all three are directly compatible with this cut. The result is a slim carry gun with a co-witnessed or suppressor-height iron sight backup and a low-profile dot.
